At the beginning of the demolition process, we realized the potential of the house, with its brick walls, with the railing that had been built to make the plastered walls now visible, and the whole skeleton gave as the idea, and the concept for this T2! 

The brickwork was painted white and varnished (after being vacuumed), the railing was used and only the thinnest slats were removed, leaving the vertical boards and those that hold the railing, all painted white, with only one room painted dark grey. 

We chose furniture and pieces with a more industrial tone, a revisited sofa and armchair lined with coffee sacks, various cushions, hangers with a variety of functions, mesh ceiling lamps that take us back to the fishing village where the house is located: Alcácer do Sal.

The White House is so much more than a house. It is a place where you can feel love, harmony, family, and a sense of security. A space designed to welcome, to slow down the pace of life, and to create memories.

Lígia Casanova brought her sensitivity, creativity, and talent to this project, transforming each room into a unique space filled with soul. With an attentive eye for detail, she created an interior that beautifully combines beauty, comfort, and authenticity, while respecting the essence of the house and the surrounding landscape of Alcácer do Sal.

The raw brick and rammed-earth walls tell stories from long ago. The aged wooden floors carry the marks of time. The old chimney, reinvented as a shower, surprises and delights, while the moon peeks through, reminding us of the simple beauty in life.

There is nothing standardised about the White House. This home is truly unique. Every corner reveals personality, care, and intention. Everything seems to be exactly where it belongs, creating an atmosphere of serenity, comfort, and well-being.

Lígia Casanova’s work went far beyond interior design. She created an experience, an identity, and a soul for this space. And it is this quiet magic that makes the White House such a special place — the kind of place that stays with you long after you have left.
